This year will see an exciting new design collective
Consisting of four British-based furniture designers -
Another Country, Scene, Assemblyroom and Pli.
Showcasing their wares at the forthcoming Clerkenwell Design Festival - May 24-26.
The collective will be based at The Farmiloe Building, one the key design hubs at the event.
Another Country will present coffee tables, bar stools and a day bed. The designers make contemporary crafted furniture for a modern customer drawing on an eclectic mix of British Country kitchen style, Shaker, traditional Scandinavian and Japanese woodwork.
Scene, the award winning design studio, know for it’s inquisitive and playful approach, will launch new shapes and sizes of its Poly light, inspired by a geodesic sphere. The Time shelves invoke a sense of time and motion, the shape of the frame suggests that of an egg timer.
Assemblyroom Furniture focus on creating iconic pieces which are refined and built to last. They will be presenting their stunning arm chair and sofa collections, along with their dining and occasional table. Each piece have a heat resistent inlay made from natural raw materials, so kind to mother nature.
The eco-friendly furniture designers - Pli will include the Pennyfields chair, made from bamboo and steel. The Whitechapel collection, which was short listed for 'Sustainable Product of the year' at the Hidden Art Awards 2010, includes a table that recalls the utility furniture tradition of the 1940s.
