DESHABILLE

Ahead of its official screening at London Fashion Week this Friday, TWENTY6 is proud to exclusively preview Fam Irvoll's Fashion Film just for you! If you like being surprised and delighted then please indulge yourselves - this is just over a minute's worth of film noir combined with Burlesque undertones and you won't be shocked to discover that it was directed by Marie Kristiansen of TWENTY6 magazine's Bondage and Delirium fame.

Fam Irvoll was born and raised in Oslo, Norway and graduated from Esmod International in 2005.  In 2008 she also graduated from the prestigious Central St Martins in London.

A signature style of bright colours, 3 Dimensional and cartoon elements were identifiable in Fam's  first collection and it's clearly apparent that she is very much inspired by Alice in Wonderland, cartoons, toys, cakes and candy. Fam's Brand is very different.  Its positive, colourful and exciting in terms of fabric use, sequins and bead work. Let's also not forget her well known 'tongue in cheek' 3D knitwear.

Fam has also worked as an assistant for designers such as Vivienne Westwood, Gareth Pugh and Norwegian designer Peter Løchstøer. - all of which no doubt inspired her to create a personal and thought provoking collection.

Her AW12 collection is an eclectic taste of imaginative cartoon critters. Pop-art prints of ‘little monsters’ appear on shirts and cotton shorts, with cloud and polka dot patterns in the foreground, reminding you of the ‘dreamlike’ state of the fantasy creatures. Subtle fruity floral prints will bring a light and care-free attitude to autumn.

Pastel shades of lilac flushed turquoise, chalk green and petal pink work alongside hints of red, deep purple and saffron yellow.  Lace has been carried through from the previous collection accompanied by printed cottons, satins and leather detailing.

This season Fam Irvoll have collaborated with renowned shoe brand Underground Creepers. By translating the colours and bold statement prints from the collection, together they have re-invented a fresh and exciting take on the original ‘Creeper’. From platforms to wedges, they complement the intensity of the quirky prints to simply become a wardrobe ‘must-have’ accessory to any outfit - adding a grunge to the ‘pretty’ silhouettes.

’Monster Mash’ promises to be an exciting season for Fam Irvoll after being featured in high profile publications such as Vogue, Vision China, and Wonderland.
