Edeline Lee is a London-based Canadian who graduated from Central Saint Martins Womenswear and apprenticed in the studios of Alexander McQueen and John Galliano.
She worked as First Assistant for Zac Posen in New York and as Head Designer for Rodnik in London. In recent years, Edeline Lee has been designing one-of-a-kind pieces for a select private clientele.
In Spring Summer 2012, Edeline Lee did a soft launch of her eponymous collection during London Fashion Week with the garments available for Special Order. The capsule collection of eight dresses and six separates was inspired by the Palais Stoclet - Joseph Hoffman’s masterpiece for the Wiener Werkstatte. The collection incorporated structured, feminine shapes, with clean modernist lines, a precise attention to quality with thoughtful decorative details. The fabrics are luxurious, featuring fine Italian silks, French tweeds, and sustainable jerseys, cottons and wools.
Fall Winter 2012 was inspired by de Stijl artists Ed Lissitzky and Bart Van der Leck. The collection juxtaposes layers of textures and precise compositions of lines, forms, and neutral colors with red and blue. Couture details include raw-edged piping, hand-stitched red silk crosses, hand-wrapped button loops, and individually painted mother of pearl buttons. Fabrics include fine cashmeres, silk/cotton organdies, camel wool, cotton crepes and moleskins, French tweeds, Morocain and Antung silks, high tech furs and cashmere/modal jersies.
