Travel & Stay with us at Villa Monte Solare

Hidden in the picturesque landscape of Umbria, surrounded by olive trees and the region’s charismatic hills, lies Villa Monte Solare, a romantic get-away that engulfs in tranquility and nature. The great heritage of the imposing villa goes way back to the 18th century, when the magnificent walls belonged to an aristocratic family. Today, Villa Monte Solare, is a peaceful SPA resort, highlighting Italian charm and carefree rural living. The resort is spread across three different buildings, two swimming pools, and a romantic chapel.

The luxurious retreat offers 25 bedrooms flaunting lavish furnishings, such as magnificent marble fireplaces, and cooling cotto flooring. The incredibly spacious rooms present vast views across the utopian hills of Umbria, where one can easily leave all cares behind and immerse in this breathtaking Italian paradise. Before enjoying a scrumptious breakfast on the noble terrace, guests can go on a refreshing morning hike through the magical hills and watch the spectacular sunrise. 80 hectares of complete nature, rich of olive trees and wild wines, offer the ultimate peace of mind. After starting the day revived and relaxed, visitors can choose to bronze themselves in front of the two glistening pools, surrounded by jade green vintage sun loungers and the calming sound of buzzing cicadas.

The heart of the stunning resort forms the tranquil SPA entitled, Le Muse Wellness, and aims to completely release stress and restore one’s mind. It is located in the Limonaia (Lemon House), which used to be a convent back in the 16th century. Peacefulness, tranquility and soothing silence fill the air of Limonaia, which already relaxes one’s soul prior having one of the bespoke massages or a quick dip in the hydrotherapy pool.

For the more adventurous spirits, an exclusive truffle hunt, with a professional truffle connoisseur and a trained sniffing dog can be arranged. For the one’s that rather taste truffle instead of hunting it, the hotel offers confined cooking classes, teaching participants all about pasta and it’s wonderful variations. If guests only enjoy consuming the wonderful Italian cuisine rather than making it, the villa’s restaurant, Dolium, offers delicious dishes made with only the best home-grown ingredients. The chef puts the regions distinctive spin on each and every meal, adding a dash of Villa Monte Solare’s very own olive oil, which was grown on the numerous trees, surrounding the magnificent property.

Guests who love to explore the villa’s mind-blowing surroundings can enjoy a short trip to visit lake Trasimeno. Only a 30 minutes drive, divide the green Italian jungle and the mediterranean lake. Water, refreshing and clear, reflecting every ray of sun, fills the landscape with vibrant shades of turquoise, reminding of a small Caribbean paradise. Close to the little oasis lies the small town of Solomeo, which is the secret fashion capital of Umbria. The town is home to the renowned fashion brand, Brunello Cuccinelli, and represents the founders spirit, family - and business values. The company’s production was originally located at the castle of Solomeo, but has been moved to the surrounding valley. The luxury cashmere brand produces its incredible fabrics right in that little town, giving back loads of opportunities to the local community and economy.

The region paired with the stunning resort combines rural life, Italian tradition and contemporary relaxation. Visiting Villa Monte Solare offers ultimate tranquility, as well as incredible cultural experiences. It can be booked exclusively for private events and makes a superb venue for weddings. Villa Monte Solare, is a place certainly worth a visit, and the beginning of a never ending romance with Italy’s picturesque countryside.
