Caravan is not only a delicious hot-spot for diners in London, but also a leading restaurant focusing on Sustainability. In fact, they have recently set up a team of Sustainability Champions who meet to discuss ways to increasingly minimise their environmental footprint. They also have a Green Coffee team who travel to places around the world visiting farmers to create long-term sustainable and personal relationships, recent trips have included traversing mountains in Ecuador and meeting co-operative societies in Kenya. There is a ban on straws and offer customers a 50p discount if they use a reusable cup. Their produce is sourced from sustainable means, as well as making their own house-made charcuteries, Kombucha, shrubs and soda. Known for their great coffee, it is also good to know they source only green coffee from single farms and estates, helping to focus on quality, sustainability and developing fair relationships with the growers. Be sure to keep a look out for their events which promote sustainability. They recently participated in the annual Earth Hour, where customers dined by candlelight for an hour and received a complimentary dish using leftover cauliflower stalks.
